I am an executive recruiter and I love what I do. When a placement comes together, great things happen: a great person gets a great job and a great company gets a great new employee.
After a long career in media sales with some of the best publications in the country, I woke up one day and realized that my business, which ran on relationships, was no longer functioning in the same way. I felt like a dinosaur. I also didn’t have a clue as to what else I could be doing.
At that point, my darling bride (who was always smarter than me) said, “You’re always helping people find jobs. Why don’t you start getting paid for that?” I have now been a successful recruiter and entrepreneur for over fifteen years.
Dave and I have known since we both started in the media business. We co-founded our business and have had great results. PointClear Search offers me the opportunity to remain focused on building relationships, one of the key motivators in my life.
My friends ask me why I haven’t retired or when I intend to retire. I really don’t have an answer for that. I like what I do, I continue to be engaged with people I really enjoy, and I am helping people all along the way. So why stop?
Life is good. Let me help make yours a little easier. Feel free to contact me and let’s talk about how PointClear Search can help your firm.

If I had to pick one word to define myself, it would be “lucky”. Countless times, a chance encounter or experience has changed the course of my life for the better. The situation seemed like the worst possible thing that could have happened at the time, but happily that was not the case.
At a very young and naive 28, I suddenly found myself newly divorced with two preschool daughters. I hadn’t worked since college. Panicked and stuck, or so I thought, I found an entry-level job in the retail world. As “luck” would have it, I found my calling. Within four years, my inquisitive and determined spirit helped me advance through the ranks and became General Manager of a Lord & Taylor department store.
Another chance encounter led me to join the luxury retailer Neiman Marcus. I loved that job too. In fact, it was the beginning of a 25+ year career. I managed several full-line stores, led the start-up of NeimanMarcus.com, and eventually ran the 28-store and online clearance division. While at NM, I met my wonderful husband when he called on me to sell advertising. He got the sale and I got him.
I now serve as Chief Marketing Officer of PointClear Search. I always like a new challenge and this job has been a great outlet for my creative side. I mentor many clients, develop job search strategies and help with resume content, biographies and interview techniques.
Someone once told me that the definition of luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I suppose on some level that must be true, but I continue to think actual luck has something to do with it.
The pertinent career facts:
I spent 25+ years as an executive at Neiman Marcus where I managed three full-line stores, led the launch of NeimanMarcus.com and then moved on to lead the management and merchandising of the multi-channel NM Last Call Division. I have extensive experience in hiring and developing very strong leadership teams and exceeding customer expectations. I founded a small manufacturing and online sales venture and worked on several consulting projects. I attended the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston. I have served on the boards of numerous non-profit and professional associations and been a featured speaker at several retail symposiums and university lecture series.
